Internet of Things (IoT)

A network of physical devices, vehicles, home appliances, and other objects equipped with electronics, software, sensors, and network connections to collect and exchange data. IoT extends the Internet beyond traditional devices such as computers and smartphones to encompass a wide range of everyday objects and industrial equipment. These "smart" devices can autonomously collect, share and act on data, often without human intervention. IoT has applications in many areas, including smart homes, wearable devices, smart cities, industrial automation and healthcare. It offers the opportunity to increase efficiency and create new services, but also presents security and privacy challenges.
